welcome!
My name is Evelyn Dsouza. I'm a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in the Department of Writing Studies.
My background is interdisciplinary, but as a rhetorician, I study scientific and technical communication with a focus on environmental writing. To that end, my dissertation examines the rhetorical ecology of the Hackensack Meadowlands, a unique urban wetland complex in the New York City metropolitan area. I share an active, relational, and ecology-oriented view of rhetoric and writing with others in my teaching and research.
At the college level, I have taught first-year writing, writing arguments, and technical and professional writing. I have also written and presented on various topics in writing pedagogy for both composition and technical communication, on cultural rhetoric of science, and on curricular writing for the sciences.
